Traveling with your pet

I just got back from a 2 week vacation and wanted to express the importance of having a pet tag on your pet with a way to contact you when you are traveling. When I was in Dutch John, Utah we found a cute, medium sized, female brown dog with no collar and no tag. No one at the lodge knew who the dog belonged to or had ever seen it before. She was very friendly and was happy to hang out with us. We posted a notice on the cork boards of the 3 local lodges and waited. Hopefully someone would come in looking for their dog and see the notice. One day turned into two days turned into three days and we thought for sure the owner would never turn up. Fortunately the owner did stop into the lodge the day before we left and inquired about their beloved pet. They contacted me on my cell phone were very worried and visibly upset. As it turned out they were camping 3 miles from the lodge and their dog got on the scent of an animal and never came back. One more day and we would have had no choice but to drive the dog to the animal shelter 50 miles away in Vernal and who knows what fate would have bestowed the sweet doog. If the dog was wearing a pet id tag they would have had their dog back the same day it went missing and all their grief and trauma would have been spared, but only if the tag contained a mobile number where they could be contacted when traveling. Please, Please, Please put a pet id tag on your pet and include a mobile number on the tag. It will save everyone a lot of heartache. To get a pet id tag check out my favorite pet tag web site http://www.easypetidtags.com/.
